The last time I shot with Danielle we had to take full Covid precautions. We drove to the shooting site in separate cars and stayed 6 feet apart while shooting. For this shoot, we could be more relaxed. This shoot came together with some scheduling work. Initially, we were supposed to shoot in mid-April while Danielle was here for business. Her trip got rescheduled, but I had my own trip to Georgia planned during that time. Luckily, Danielle could stay in the area until the day after I returned from my trip. The weather cooperated and we had a delightful shoot the morning before she left.

Danielle loves the outdoors and it shows. She has a lithe, toned body sculpted by her athletic lifestyle, as you can well see by these photos. I enjoy conversing with her too. She always has some new adventure to relate or something new planned. She and her significant other have been working on creating an Expedition Touring Vehicle and plan on traveling the world with it. The plans include shipping it to Africa and New Zealand for the overland adventures. 

We shot for a couple of hours on the beach. We started early so Danielle could be on her way quickly after our shoot. Despite the cool morning, Danielle eagerly posed in each outfit I provided. The open shade chilled her, but there was no wind, and I gave her a thick towel to wrap around her when she got too chilly. Standing in the morning sun helped too, and she only needed a few short breaks.

The two hours we planned for the shoot passed quickly and Danielle was off to her next adventure. I'm not sure when I'll get to shoot with her again, but I'd be delighted to work with her in the future.

2020 - Global Pandemic - Year 1

Lust - Merrique

The twentieth year of the second millenium of the Common Era was almost a total bust for me photographically.  I did exactly two glamour shoots the entire year. One was a Patreon set for my friend, Merrique, and the other was a socially distanced, outdoor shoot during a lull in the pandemic. The rest of the time was primarily spent coaching my kindergarten and 2nd grade grandkids with their online studies while we were doing our best to deal with the pandemic conditions.  

I did do a bit of editing and cataloging and, of course, I continued to take photos of my family events and portraits of my grandchildren as opportunities permitted. I did a fair amount of walking and biking, but most of the summer and into the fall we were plagued with heavy smoke from the many wildfires in the surrounding areas which made landscape photography nigh impossible. It definitely impacted the ability to breath out-of-doors and made for some unusual sunsets and sunrises.

Fortunately, my one outside shoot happened in May before the wildfires gained a significant hold. We shot on Sauvie Island, one of my favorite places, and even though the model and I stayed well apart (separate vehicles to the area), we got some lovely images. I also found out where the exact boundary of the clothing optional area was located thanks to a friendly ranger.

Along with the pandemic, we had the utter chaos of the election cycle and all the idiocy that typically goes along with it. This time, though, it was exacerbated by the lies and venality of the former president and his cult of ignorance. Fortunately, there were enough sane voters left to oust the previous president, though the Big Lie continues and he continues to babble his nonsense on the right-wing networks that will have him.

That's enough about 2020.  I'll discuss 2021 in my next post.  At least I'll have a few more images to share.

For about the last ten years or so, maybe longer, I've been posting images for the 4th of July. Usually I start about 10 or so days before the event and post images of my many lovely models in their patriotic regalia everyday up until the 4th.  This year, due to various reasons, I got a late start.  Given all that's been happening in the last couple of years, I'm just not feeling all that patriotic this year.

Well, nevertheless, here are some images that I hope will brighten you holiday and lift your spirits.

Santa on Sauvie - Shoot with Danielle

I shot today with the very lovely Danielle Winkler, a fun and athletic model traveling through Oregon on a trip through the Pacific Northwest. We shot at Sauvie right around the Sauvie Spaceship. As we were setting up for the shoot, we were approached by an older, portly gentleman who was totally nude except for a Santa hat.  Unsurprised by the nakedness, it's a nude beach after all, the Santa hat did amuse me.  He asked if he could watch our shoot, but I declined since it was my first shoot with Danielle and I didn't know how she would feel about it.  I could have deferred to her, I suppose, but I didn't want to put her on the spot.

The man looked disappointed, but went on his way.  A short time later he approached us again and asked us a bit about the ship, and asked if we were done.  I told him a we'd be a while longer, and he grumbled a bit but went on his way.  Not too much later, we saw his walking (stumbling more like it) down the beach.  Then he came up to us again and remarked that he had "called them" and was told we couldn't reserve the site all day.  I attempted to explain to him, that we weren't reserving anything and he was free to explore the ship, but to be careful as there was glass inside the vessel.

Since it was a bit chilly for Danielle, we wrapped up our shoot sooner rather than later, and the last we saw of the gentleman, he was slowly making his way down away from us complaining that he should have made us let him in the ship earlier - leaving both Danielle and I quite puzzled with the whole encounter.  A most interesting encounter, but only one of many I've had while shooting on the island.  The strange thing though, is he wasn't from Portland at all, but visiting from North Carolina for the World Naked Bike Ride (which he kept trying to convince us to attend).  I guess you don't have to be from Portland to keep it weird.
